More Than a Charger
Most Level 2 EV chargers do one thing: charge your car at a fixed rate. SPAN Drive does significantly more. When paired with the SPAN Panel, it becomes a fully integrated part of your home's electrical intelligence — adjusting charging speed in real time based on your home's total energy demand, solar production, battery state, and time-of-use rates.
That means your car charges faster when your solar is producing, slower when your home demand is high, and at the cheapest time-of-use rate overnight — automatically, without you managing it. The SPAN Home app shows you exactly what's happening and lets you override at any time.
For homes without a SPAN Panel, SPAN Drive still functions as a high-quality Level 2 charger with its own app-based scheduling and monitoring. The full integration features become available if you add SPAN Panel later.

When installed together, SPAN Drive and SPAN Panel communicate natively — no third-party integration, no workarounds. Charging speed adjusts automatically based on whole-home demand, solar production, and battery state. The most capable EV charging setup available for residential use.
SPAN Drive as a Standalone Charger
SPAN Drive installs as a standard Level 2 EV charger on any home with sufficient panel capacity. App-based scheduling and monitoring included. Full SPAN Panel integration available as a future upgrade path.
SPAN Drive Installation Pricing
SPAN Drive installation starts with assessing your panel's available capacity and the planned charger location. Where existing panel capacity supports a straightforward install, we can quote and complete the job in a single visit. Complex installs — long wire runs, panel coordination, or SPAN Panel pairing — are quoted after an evaluation.
SPAN Drive is supplied by CMB Electric at $635. Installation labor is quoted based on the specific install conditions. For homes considering the full SPAN Panel + Drive system, a combined evaluation covers both.
